The Ottison: A Mystery Solved…thanks to new signage

November 22, 2024

For months, The Ottison has been quietly rising near on Spadina Avenue in Downtown Chilliwack, leaving many wondering what this bold new building would bring to the community. With no public announcements or details available, it was a project cloaked in mystery. But now, thanks to the addition of a new sign, we finally have answers—and they reveal an exciting addition to Chilliwack’s rental housing market.

What We Now Know

The Ottison is being developed by Three Rivers Properties, a family-run company with 60+ years of combined building experience. This brand-new rental building is set to come online in Winter 2025 and will provide housing for a few dozen residents, just steps away from major amenities like the hospital, leisure centre, District 1881, and local grocery stores.

A Bold, Modern Design

From the street, The Ottison’s eye-catching design is already turning heads. Its sleek lines and contemporary architecture promise to blend style with functionality, creating a building that stands out in Chilliwack’s growing skyline. But the appeal doesn’t stop at the exterior—the interior spaces are just as thoughtfully planned.

The Ottison will feature a mix of 1- and 2-bedroom units, with floorplans ranging from 508 sq. ft. for cozy one-bedroom apartments to spacious 2-bedroom layouts of over 1,150 sq. ft.. This variety ensures the building caters to a wide range of needs, from young professionals to small families.

Each unit is designed with modern living in mind, offering layouts that maximize space and natural light while maintaining a sleek, contemporary style. Whether you’re looking for a comfortable one-bedroom retreat or a two-bedroom home with room to grow, The Ottison’s floorplans deliver thoughtful design paired with practical functionality.

For a closer look at these layouts, we’re including a gallery of floorplans to give you a sense of how The Ottison is shaping up inside and out. Stay tuned for updates as the building progresses!

About Three Rivers Properties

Behind The Ottison is Three Rivers Properties, a small, family-run company known for their emphasis on community and reliability. Their previous projects, like The Victoria, have already made a mark in Chilliwack, and their upcoming Emrose Living development, set for 2026, will only add to their growing portfolio.

One charming detail? The Ottison is named after one of the developers’ grandchildren, showcasing the personal touch this company brings to every project.

Filling a Housing Need

Chilliwack’s need for well-located rental housing is no secret, and The Ottison aims to help address that demand. With a variety of unit sizes and modern amenities like a community garden patio and a small gym, it’s set to provide comfortable, accessible homes for individuals and families alike. As The Ottison moves closer to its Winter 2025 launch, we’ll be keeping an eye on its progress—and sharing updates on how it impacts Chilliwack’s housing landscape.
