In a move no one saw coming, the former Orangetheory Fitness location at Eagle Landing in Chilliwack is set to become something a little more... indulgent. Forget the treadmills and rowing machines—this space is swapping splat points for syrup stacks as it transforms into an IHOP. Yes, the fitness studio once known for pushing you to your limits is now all about pushing pancakes onto your plate!
This also marks the return of IHOP to Chilliwack after its previous location, part of the Travelodge Hotel on Yale Road, closed. The hotel was purchased by BC Housing back in 2021 for $21.8 million to address local housing needs. The 1986-built, four-storey building—complete with 82 rooms, an indoor swimming pool, and an IHOP—was acquired to serve as supportive housing, ending the pancake party on that site. But fans of fluffy stacks, rejoice: IHOP is making a comeback at Eagle Landing!
Orangetheory enthusiasts might remember chasing that elusive “orange zone” during intense workouts, but now, the only zone you’ll be targeting is golden-brown, served with a side of butter and syrup. Instead of counting splat points, you'll be counting pancakes—no heart-rate monitor needed. And forget “all-outs” on the rower; your new challenge is going all-out on a stack of buttermilk pancakes or the decadent whipped-cream-covered options.
For those concerned about leaving their fitness routine behind, don’t worry—IHOP brings its own kind of burn. After all, it takes serious dedication to tackle an entire breakfast combo! If you thought Orangetheory tested your endurance, just wait until you face a towering stack of pancakes. Are you ready to go all-out for breakfast?
While there’s no confirmed opening date yet, the excitement around town is building faster than a short stack. Whether you're an Orangetheory alum or just craving some syrup-drenched carbs, Eagle Landing’s newest addition promises a sweet start to your day.
