The approved development at 9298 Young Road is a significant addition to the District 1881 revitalization project in downtown Chilliwack. This five-story mixed-use building will feature commercial space on the ground floor, with 32 apartments and three townhouse units above. The design seamlessly integrates with the historic character of the area, enhancing the overall appeal of the neighborhood.

This project also includes a rooftop common area designed for residents, which will provide a landscaped space for relaxation and socializing. While the development required variances, including a reduction in the required common amenity area and a sidewalk width adjustment, these changes were carefully considered and approved to maintain the integrity and accessibility of the site.

As the final phase of the District 1881 redevelopment, this project will contribute to the ongoing transformation of downtown Chilliwack, offering a blend of residential and commercial spaces that will support a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly community.
