In response to the growing population in Chilliwack and surrounding areas, A.D. Rundle Middle School is undergoing a significant expansion. The project will add 300 new student seats, increasing the school's total capacity to 750. This expansion includes the construction of 12 new classrooms, using prefabricated methods to ensure a quicker build time. The project, funded with an $18 million investment from the provincial government, is expected to be completed by early 2026 and will meet LEED Gold standards, emphasizing sustainability.
This expansion is part of a broader effort to enhance educational infrastructure in Chilliwack, with over $230 million invested in adding more than 3,420 student spaces across the district over the past seven years. Other ongoing projects in the region include the expansion of Sardis Secondary and the development of the New Eastside Elementary School.
The addition at A.D. Rundle Middle School is a key step in ensuring that educational facilities in Chilliwack can accommodate the region’s continued growth.
