The Paramount

Project Status

The Paramount Project, spearheaded by Chilliwack Community Services (CCS), marks a significant milestone in addressing housing affordability in Chilliwack. As the largest initiative in CCS's nearly 100-year history, this project embodies the organization's long-standing commitment to providing safe, affordable housing, particularly for seniors and young adults.

Located in the heart of downtown Chilliwack, the Paramount Project will deliver 66 units of housing—58 designated for seniors and 8 for young adults. These units will offer a range of affordability options, from deep subsidy to below-market rent, ensuring accessibility for a diverse group of residents.

The building, designed with modern architectural features and a community-focused layout, will also consolidate the offices of CCS on the first two floors, allowing the organization to better serve the community from a central location. This project is not just about housing; it represents CCS's dedication to supporting the downtown area's revitalization, contributing to the broader redevelopment efforts led by the City of Chilliwack and the Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation (CEPCO).

The Paramount Project would not have been possible without the support of several key partners:

  • CPA Development Consultants: Graham Plant and Sevda Safarova
  • Station One Architects: Justin Dyck, Chelsea Mueller, Leon Schroeder, and Darren Les
  • Gerry Enns Construction: Gerry Enns, Ian Poettcker, Jarrod Offereins, and Karen Vandenberg

CCS also gratefully acknowledges the financial contributions and support from:

  • The Federal Government of Canada through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC)
  • The Province of British Columbia, through BC Housing
  • The City of Chilliwack and CEPCO, for their generous donation of land and the waiving of fees

This project is a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration and a shared vision for a better future. The Paramount Project is set to become a cornerstone of affordable housing in Chilliwack, enhancing the quality of life for its residents and contributing to the vibrancy of the downtown area.
