The historic Cheam View United Church site at 45835 Spadina Avenue is being transformed into a modern 6-storey mixed-use building. This project, developed through a partnership between Mamele'awt Qweesome/To'o Housing Society (MQHS) and Cheam View United Church, will provide 64 affordable rental units designed for seniors, low-income families, and individuals with mobility challenges.
In addition to the residential units, the development includes a "club/lodge" area, continuing the church's legacy as a community gathering place. This space will host various community programs and events, ensuring that the site remains a hub of fellowship and support. The project aims to address Chilliwack's growing need for affordable housing while preserving the cultural and social significance of the site.
