A new six-storey apartment building is being planned for the corner of Wellington Avenue and Mary Street, just one block from Five Corners in downtown Chilliwack. The building would have 155 rental apartments, including a mix of smaller units like studios and one-bedrooms, as well as eight larger, three-bedroom units that are better suited for families. The goal is to offer a variety of housing options to meet different needs.

The building will include two levels of underground parking with 180 parking spaces, including spots for visitors and future electric vehicles. There will also be lots of bike parking, with over 200 spaces for residents and visitors. Instead of a loading bay on the property, deliveries will use a designated spot along Wellington Avenue.

A major feature of the project is a large rooftop courtyard on the second floor. This space is designed for people to enjoy the outdoors and includes places to sit and eat, a barbecue and sink, a small playground for kids, and even a dog run. Inside, residents will have access to an air-conditioned lounge and fitness room.

The building design includes modern materials and lots of greenery, with tiered planters and street trees along the sidewalks. A total of 36 new trees will be planted. While most of the land will be taken up by the building and underground parkade, the developers have made room for landscaped areas and promise that the look and feel of the building will fit the downtown neighbourhood as it continues to grow and change.
