2026 Municipal Election
Candidates were asked. These are their answers, in their own words.
Build Chilliwack is a Chilliwack site. For this election we have opened it up a little wider.
Local organisations put questions to candidates across the Eastern Fraser Valley — Chilliwack, Mission and Abbotsford. Rather than have the answers scattered across three places, we offered to hold them in one.
That is all we are doing here. We did not write the questions we are hosting for other groups, we do not edit anyone’s answer, and we do not decide who appears. Every candidate we could reach was invited. What they wrote is what you will read.
If someone did not reply, we say so — not as a mark against them, but so the record is complete.
Nothing goes up while a questionnaire is still open, so nobody can read the room before answering.
Thanks for being here, and thanks to every candidate who took the time.

Chilliwack’s future depends on how well housing, transportation, and infrastructure investments work together. Build Chilliwack asks MLA candidates how they would support neighbourhoods that make daily life easier, strengthen transit connections, and align provincial decisions with local planning. We also explore how housing policy and funding should recognize the contributions of First Nations and the shared services connecting our communities. The focus is practical: thoughtful growth, coordinated investment, and provincial leadership that reflects Chilliwack’s unique needs.

Environmental and community groups across the Eastern Fraser Valley are inviting MLA candidates in Chilliwack North and Chilliwack-Cultus Lake to share their priorities for a healthier, more sustainable future. The questions seek specific actions and measurable commitments that balance environmental goals with affordability, housing, and economic needs. This non-partisan initiative gives candidates an opportunity to explain how they would represent local priorities and collaborate on practical solutions, helping voters make informed decisions without endorsing or opposing any candidate.
